A new café, toilet facilities and additional car parking at the Morton Stanley Park took a step closer after the Planning Committee at Redditch Borough Council approved the application on Wednesday 15th April.
The Committee, chaired by Councillor Gemma Monaco (CON, Batchley & Brockhill) considered a number of points and listened to public representations, including a rarity for planning committees: a member of the public speaking in favour of an application.
Councillor Roger Bennett (CON, Headless Cross & Oakenshaw) also sits on the committee took a moment at the end of the hearing to welcome the much-needed investment into the park, something he had been advocating for years.
