At Monday night's full council meeting, Labour voted through their plans for Redditch.
Leader of the Conservatives on Redditch Borough Council, Matt Dormer said “Labour have no ambition for our town. We presented fully costed and ambitious plans for Redditch which would have provided a fabulous new space for people to come to and enjoy our town centre. Our plans would have made Redditch town centre an excellent place to visit and would have increased footfall by attracting people from far and wide.” Labour are planning on taking us back to the 1980s with the introduction of a four day per week outdoor market showing a clear lack of vision or future for our town centre. Labour's refusal to recognise that people's shopping habits have changed show how out of touch they are with modern times. The Labour party’s plans put Redditch Borough Council in serious financial risk. “Our plans for the new town hall hub would have generated substantial revenue for the council ensuring we would not face the same fate as the Labour run Birmingham City Council. Labours vision-less plans put this at risk and will end up costing the council far more money to get out of contracts that have already been signed off on.” It is clear, The Redditch Labour party have no ambition, no vision, and no plan for our town.
